In order to get more accurate results, our search has the following Google-Type search functionality:
If you use '+' in front of a word, then that word will be present in the search results.
ex: Harry +Potter will return results with the word 'Potter'.
If you use '-' in front of a word, then that word will be absent in the search results.
ex: Harry -Potter will return results without the word 'Potter'.
If you use 'AND' between two words, then both of those words will be present in the search results.
ex: Harry AND Potter will return results with both 'Harry' and 'Potter'.
If you use 'OR' between two words, then bth of those words may or may not be present in the search results.
ex: Harry OR Potter will return results with just 'Harry', results with just 'Potter' and results with both 'Harry' and 'Potter'.
If you use 'NOT' before a word, then that word will be absent in the search results.
ex: Harry NOT Potter will return results without the word 'Potter'.
Placing '""' around words will perform a phrase search. The search results will contain those words in that order.
ex: "Harry Potter" will return any results with 'Harry Potter' in them, but not 'Potter Harry'.
Using '*' in a word will perform a wildcard search. The '*' signifies any number of characters. Searches can not start with a wildcard.
ex: Pot*er will return results with words starting with 'Pot' and ending in 'er'. In this case, 'Potter' will be a match.

‘I felt cheated, as though a secret had been kept from me: my grandfather was significant ... to me, to others. It was important that I knew, and someone should have told me. Perhaps then I would understand what I had to do, who to become.’
Sydney-based copywriter Tara has a composed exterior, but grapples with an underlying sense of unease. When she delves into her late grandfather’s World War I experience, she uncovers a profound connection to her own life. Troubled by the horrors he experienced, she sets out on a quest for understanding with her friend Dominic, tracing her grandfather’s journey through Belgium. As they explore their intertwined destinies, they unravel the universal cycle of regret, love, trauma and healing across generations.
‘Impressive in many ways. I think O’Neil has a real gift: she writes very well, and is good at describing places, moods and attitudes. Her characters are well drawn, believable and striking at times. Their confusions and perplexities are well conveyed. Some of the war scenes are excellent. I liked very much the compression of her writing.’ – Andrew Reimer, literary critic and author.
Diana O'Neil’s experience spans across various fields – from book and magazine publishing to TV and nursing, with an interesting stint in the armed forces. Splitting her time between Italy and Australia, she finds solace in swimming in the sea, eating tomatoes and olives, and indulging in a glass of wine. When not engaged in a game of Scrabble, she loves to read. Sorrows Yield is her debut book.
